Cat of the Month - Tuffy
Unlike most of our cats, Tuffy came from a good home where he was well cared for. Unfortunately, Tuffy's owner passed away and he was taken to a facility in Texas. Due to the abundant number of cats already at this particular facility, LTB felt we could provide him with a much better home. A new enclosure was constructed here, complete with large trees, lots of grass, boulders, a simulated creek bed, a small pool, dens and lounging hammocks.

Surgery Room Almost Complete
Natasha is the first LTB Cat with an on-site Indoor Medical Procedure
It has been a long road, but the surgery room is almost complete. Dr. Sharon Zito has spent endless hours installing equipment and setting up the on-site facility. We still need some equipment (wish list is coming soon), but thanks to your generous donations we were able to perform our first on-site, indoor medical procedure on February 7th.
We were finally able to give Natasha, one of our female Bengal tigers, a complete medical examination. This exam included, but was not limited to: a sonogram, x-rays, a complete dental exam, and microchip implant. Also, blood, urine, and stool samples were collected.
Moving Natasha from her Enclosure Dr. George Miller Sedates Natasha
All of this was accomplished by an amazing vet team consisting of: Dr. Sharon Zito - head vet in charge of the procedure, Dr. George Miller - medicating anesthesia and monitoring, Dr. Christi Garfinkel - x-rays and sonogram, Dr Vera Heidolph - surgery assistant, Traci Smith - Vet Tech, and our first Vet Tech Student Jennifer Hatchell.

We can not give enough thanks to these hard working individuals who have donated their valuable time and expertise to help our cats. We can also not thank our donors enough for the contributions that have helped make this medical room become reality. We need a few more key pieces of equipment and will provide more information soon as to what we need and how you can help. Once again, Thank You!

Moment of Prayer and Joy with Natasha After her Exam
Thanks again to everyone who helped make this important goal of Lions, Tigers & Bears coming close to being a reality.

A Message from Bobbi

Greetings friends of Lions, Tigers & Bears
Well, as many of you know, we were able to perform our first on-site, indoor medical procedure on February 7th. We were finally able to give Natasha, one of our female Bengal tigers, a complete medical examination.
A week later we had the vet back out to the ranch to use our new medical facility once again. This time to perform an exam of our recently rescued mountain lion - 502, and to spay her. Lo and behold 502 actually needed to be neutered! Having never been close enough to actually determine gender, there was an assumption as told by Fish & Game that 502 was female. What a surprise when our cute "girl" was really a handsome "boy". Both procedures went well.
Do you want to help 502? Attend Wild in the Country and you will have the opportunity to bid on the right to name him. All proceeds from the naming go to his care and the improvement of a long term enclosure for him.
Proceeds from the event go toward operating expenses that allow us to continue to provide a lifetime home to our rescued cats. It also helps us get one step closer to building an exercise area for our big cats. Check our website for more information coming soon.

Last Chance to buy a Commemorative Brick
Our order for personally engraved bricks will need to be placed by March 15th in order for us to receive the bricks and install them in time for Wild in the Country.
These bricks are a great way to recognize children, grandchildren, marriages, and other special events, or as a lasting memorial for a loved one or pet. They're also unique gifts, and perfect for any occasion. Most importantly all funds will help us build our exercise area for the big cats.
If you have been thinking of ordering a brick, time is running out. Click here to order today.
Or better yet join us at the cubs 1st Birthday Party and purchase your brick there!

Cat of the Month - Natasha
Natasha came to us with Raja in September 2002. When she was first brought to LTB, we thought there was a possibility that she was pregnant. With the stress of the move and her deplorable previous living conditions, we were worried about her health. She soon began showing small belly bulges, and started to look and feel much better. At the height of her pregnancy, she looked like she had a bowling ball on each side of her belly! On November 8, 2002, Natasha gave birth to two beautiful girl cubs, named Tabu and Sitarra (AKA "the Girls").
